Small Groups are the life of our church and the key to our growth as individuals. Small Groups meet weekly Monday-Thursday throughout the Pullman area. Some groups meet for an hour and a half while others meet for two hours; we know people are busy, so our groups make sure to start and end on time.
The Small Group gathering usually begins with refreshments and socializing, followed by a discussion focused on life application of the Bible. If you're visiting a Small Group, you can participate in the discussion as much or as little as you'd like. Groups end the evening by taking some time to pray for one another.
Finding the right group
Here's what we've found works best for most people:
- If you've come to Hills with a friend and they already attend a group, ask if you can visit group with them. If the group's location or demographic doesn't work well for you, see if your friend can help you find a group that works better.
- Visit a Discipleship Community on the night that works best for your schedule. Discipleship Communities are typically held on the first full week of the month, Monday-Thursday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Hills.
- Try out a few different groups to find one that feels like it might be a fit. You can take a look at our Small Group board on Sundays, or check out Small Groups on our web site to see all of the current groups.
If you're visiting for the first time, it is best to contact the group leader to verify where the small group will be meeting that week.
Once a month, Small Groups gather at Hills for Discipleship Communities.
What is Discipleship Community?
A Discipleship Community (DC) is a mid-sized gathering of all the Small Groups that meet on a given week night. It gives people the chance to build relationships with people outside of their Small Group without being overwhelmed by the large numbers of people at a Sunday service. You do not already need to be a part of a Small Group in order to attend a Discipleship Community, and it's a great way to meet people in the small group(s) you might be interested in visiting.
Discipleship Communities meet at Hills for Bible teaching, worship, prayer, and connecting with friends; and a pastor kicks off the monthly small group topic by teaching through a text that is related to what our small groups will be discussing throughout the rest of the month.
