Ernest Menocal
Lead Pastor
Ern started Hills Church in the summer of 2012 with a team of 21 adults and 6 kids from Blue Sky Church, in Bellevue, WA. Formerly, Ern helped plant Blue Sky in 2004 right after graduating from Southern Illinois University with a BFA in Industrial Design. He served for numbers of years as executive pastor. At Hills, Ern’s responsibilities include casting the overall vision of Hills Church, teaching and preaching the Bible, overseeing staff, and leader development as the church continues to grow. Ern has been married to his wife Laura since 2008, and they have three energetic and loving children.
Flyn Christianson
Associate Pastor & Worship Leader
Flyn is our full-time worship leader and staff pastor. He moved out to Eastern WA from Bellevue in 2012 to help plant Hills Church. At Hills, Flyn’s responsibilities include teaching and preaching the Bible, overseeing small groups, leading worship and training up new band members. In his free time Flyn loves smoking brisket to share with friends and riding his motorcycle around town. Flyn has been married to his wife Esther since 2009 and has three wonderful children.

Sheridan Jaeger
Kids' Program Coordinator
Sheridan serves as our volunteer Kids Program Coordinator. She'll be carrying vision for our Kids' program, training kids program workers, interacting with parents on Sundays, and helping grow all aspects of our Kids program as God continues to grow Hills Church. Sheridan loves spending time with her husband Max, her friends, and enjoying the outdoors. You'll see her around Hills with a big contagious smile on her face.
Sam Larsen
Youth Leader
Sam serves as our part time youth leader at Hills Church. He serves our growing Youth Program & trains the program volunteers at Hills. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife Emily, small group friends, and hanging at the Rec center. Sam daylights as an accountant here in Pullman and is getting close to wrapping up his CPA exams.
Ethan Smillie
Office Administrator and worship leader
Ethan has been our full-time administrator since September 2023. He is responsible for many behind the scenes administrative tasks, Hills Church Events, and is one of our worship leaders in training. Ethan enjoys exercise, playing worship music, writing, spending time with small group friends, and especially time with his wife Miriam.
Rebecca Baylon
Bookkeeper
Rebecca is serving as our volunteer bookkeeper/accountant for Hills Church. She and her husband Joe have been a part of Hills since 2012 and have 2 beautiful children.
